Arvada Police Honor Garden
The Arvada Police Foundation is building the Arvada Police Honor Garden to create a lasting tribute that honors the service, sacrifice, and dedication of the Arvada Police Department, including those who have given their lives in the line of duty.
This space will serve not only as a memorial but also as a place of reflection, unity, and appreciation for the men and women who work to keep the Arvada community safe.
It represents a powerful opportunity to show support for local law enforcement, strengthen community bonds, and contribute to a project that embodies respect, gratitude, and civic pride. By investing in the Honor Garden, the community helps preserve a legacy of service and creates a space that will inspire future generations.

Our Initiatives
-
The Arvada Police Foundation is spearheading the creation of the Arvada Police Honor Garden, a dignified memorial at Memorial Park to honor the four Arvada Police officers who died in the line of duty—Robert Beghtol, W. Michael Northey, Gordon Beesley, and Dillon Vakoff.
Ground was broken on April 24, 2025, with a ceremonial gathering featuring Chief Brady and family members of the fallen, in a ceremony marking a profound moment of remembrance. Designed with a “Path of Heroes” featuring individual plaques, a “Circle of Honor,” and a poignant statue titled “Generations of Service,” the garden offers a contemplative space where visitors can sit alongside figures representing past, present, and future officers.
With nearly $120,000 raised toward its $500,000 goal, the Honor Garden is projected to be completed by spring 2026—ideally in time for Peace Officers Memorial Day on May 15, 2026—and will stand as a meaningful tribute to courage, sacrifice, and community resilience.

The Arvada Police Foundation’s Family Day is a heartwarming and long-overdue celebration dedicated to the loved ones of Arvada’s law enforcement personnel. After a hiatus since 2019, the first event in late spring 2024 brought together over 200 officers and family members—more than 90 kids—who enjoyed bounce houses, face painting, and even an In-N-Out Burger truck . Sponsored by the Foundation, this special day organized through the Police Department Peer Support Group fosters camaraderie, resilience, and well‑being within the department’s tight‑knit community.
As an upbeat, family‑friendly festivity, Family Day underscores the Foundation’s commitment to honoring the personal sacrifices of police officers and their families—making it a meaningful expression of gratitude and unity in Arvada.
-
The Arvada Police Foundation’s Community Care Fund is a vital resource designed to enable Arvada Police officers to assist community members facing urgent financial hardship—without dipping into personal funds. This initiative empowers officers to provide immediate support for essential needs such as groceries, baby formula, bicycle repairs, or even help following a scam. Previously, officers would often use their own money to help vulnerable residents in crisis;
Now, thanks to the Foundation, the support comes from a dedicated community-backed fund . By contributing to the Community Care Fund, residents ensure that first responders can respond to the human side of policing—offering compassion and tangible assistance during tough times. Your support makes a real difference: it rides along with every patrol shift, reinforcing trust, dignity, and community connection.

The Arvada Police Foundation’s Breakfast with the Chief is an annual event that offers an inspiring and direct connection between community members and the Arvada Police Department. With over 100 people attending the inaugural event in September 2024 at Freedom Street Social—and raising more than $40,000—the breakfast proved to be both a meaningful fundraiser and a powerful celebration of unity.
