The Arvada Police Honor Garden

Remembering Our Fallen Heroes and Honoring Past, Present and Future Police Service to Our Community

The Arvada Police Honor Garden, which was dedicated on May 28, 2026, was constructed to memorialize the courage and selflessness of the four Arvada Police officers who gave their lives to protect our community, and to honor the past, present and future of police service to Arvada.

The Honor Garden is located on the west side of Memorial Park, right across the street from City Hall and Arvada Police Headquarters. It pays tribute to the heroism of the four officers who gave their lives serving our community: Dillon Vakoff (2022), Gordon Beesley (2021), W. Michael Northey (1979) and Robert Beghtol (1961).

In addition, a Circle of Honor in the center of the Garden sends a very positive message to current and future generations of Arvada police officers that their service and dedication to our community are recognized and supported. It is paved with engraved bricks donated by many supporters of the Arvada Police, who helped finance the construction.

Although they did not arrive in time for the Dedication Ceremony, the Circle of Honor will also feature 3 statues known as the Generations of Service to honor past, present and future police service to the City of Arvada. The statues will consist of an older officer wearing gear from the 80s and 90s, who will be looking at a seated officer wearing current gear who will be handing a junior officer badge to a young child. The statues will be situated in the center of the bench so people can take pictures sitting next to them. We will let you know when they arrive.
